in kentucky

after the few weeks of workin at the church, and the wonderful wedding of michael and rachael, i am now in kentucky.

i got here safe...but unsure of how sound..

left from fort worth about 8.30 and headed on and on. i head the arkansas border bout midnight and felt that it was time to take a nap or so, about 1.25 hr nap; enough to get movin for about another hour or so....where i found another gas station and camped (in my car) for about 2 hrs this time. i then got up (for it was now close to 5 or 6) and headed out again. later on down the road, i crashed for about 30 minutes and then headed on out again.

i arrived at the camp at about 1 pm on monday...later than i expected...but not bad.

today is my first day, and pretty cool

yesterday, i met lots of people which equals lots of names, but that is cool

learned tower and some bible study stuff, ate, and some other stuff

today got certified on the tower and more bible study stuff.

havin a pretty good time. still tryin to catch up on sleep...but all is well.

keep me and the camp in your prayers...lots to look forward to.

ramblings of the past week

for those that dont know, i am back in texas and have been back and forth from tyler and fort worth a couple of times.

last weekend i went to tyler to get certified for camp. the time getting certed was alright. i enjoyed it. chuck is the man.

chalk it up to age and experience, but this time around, things just felt smoother, like i was in control...well being the oldest one there by far (for everyone else was in high school or fresh out) i felt that things just flowed...and i dont mean the warmness in the pool. it was nice catching up with chuck.

one more step towards heading to camp.

i am stoked about it. coming up quickly. everyone will be there the 24th, but i will come on the 28th. so dont expect me to blog much during the summer, for i do not know when i will have that chance.

i would love to hear from you sometime...so feel free to call or email. Also, keep me and camp in your prayers...for camp is a time where the spirit impacts many people.

home at last

well, i have arrived back in the place called home. i definitely have not missed this thing called tv. amazing how it manages to suck you in and not let you go until anything of use has already passed by....at least that is the way i feel.

its nice to see the folks, and i can say that i eat more now than i have these past couple of months...not that it is exactly healthy for me. i am a lazy eater, if i dont have something to keep me busy i eat...weird, huh...can you see me as an obese individual cruising down the street?

anyways, i am trying to catch up on practically everything. on emails, contacts with camp, everything i have put off for so long.

...alas, soon i must decide if i am going to so school this may. i dont feel an overwhelming urge to go back...does that say something? now that doesnt mean that i dont like learning, nor would i completely shun going back to school...but i dont know about this one, nor what i was going for. i keep telling myself that this summer will tell me more, but i dont know what is in store.

fuhn

yeah, i chilled on this monday. got my oil changed and chilled mostly.

this night steph, jason, lindsey, and me met up with some other peeps for basketball at their church. it was pretty fun.

lots of energy and a face full of basketball, but i had a great time

the trek home: day 8 lubbock

i get up to a nice sunrise and head out.

this morning i decide to head to four corners and check it out.

rating: nice to visit once

had to pay $3 to get in because it wasnt a national monument, but was on native american land. the scenery wasnt the best, but it was pretty cool to check out the whole four state thing.

so i decide to head through new mexico today. i figure i might stop outside santa fe and camp at the national forest there...

well, you know me and plans...i ended up calling steph and jason's and so i headed to lubbock that night and camped at their house, in a real bed. that meant no camping in new mexico on this trip. i have stayed in new mexico last summer for summer camp...so i have been there an extended amount of time, not just traveling through in one day.

man it was nice to get a shower and to see friends once again.
