Characteristics

Michael Hyatt writes on what you should look for in people you are hiring, but I think it can be translated to things people are looking for in you.

...A hungry person is intellectually curious. He reads constantly—newspapers, magazines, and books. Lots of books. He loves learning new things and sharing what he is learning with others.

FYI this webpage does not multi task well on iPhone.

Watched cold souls tonight. Makes one think

Reading Luke 21. A big chapter.

Does one write merely for the act, or does it seriously convey thoughts and feelings down on a page. And once they are down are they any less potent in the writer's heart? I say no; if anything else they are more potent, perhaps more garbled, but even the more potent.

May thoughts be true and actions honest to the One over all.

P.S. Congrats on baby Tripputi

Leadership

This is one of those aspects of life that I feel I am weak in so much. I feel that I see and identify good qualities in others but I fail to improve upon them in my life. I have a video clip that talks about your leadership within an organization. I believe it is Andy Stanley from northpointe in Atlanta.

Which begs the question what are my weaknesses and what are my strengths?

Overwhelmed

Ever feel overwhelmed?

Can't say that I have ever felt that way but I have been pretty close.

And I bet you don't buy that, and neither do I.

Things are great now, but as many of y'all know summertime is one of my busiest seasons. So it is now that I am catching up on much of my social media and blogs, etc. I hav to admit that I judged a post by it's title, first line and length, as I think many others would. Things I found out

1. Make a good introduction
2. Make your words count
3. It didn't hurt me to skip/miss things
4. It is ok to mark potentially promising material for a later - more in depth read
5. Life goes on outside of summer

I hope that life is treating each one of y'all well! Laura and I would love to hear from you!

Offenses

Michael Hyatt
1. Offenses are inevitable.
2. Satan intends offenses for our destruction.
3. God intends offenses for our good.
4. Being offended is a choice.

Truth

The idea is not that truth is changing, but that further study is changing our understanding of truth.

Great leaders

Great leaders cultivate an environment where instead of people getting injured, discouraged, and burned out, they are equipped to become what they never thought they could be and achieve things they never thought they could achieve. Great leaders grow not just results, but people too.

I need to do more than read when I do, I need to absorb, to analyze, to formulate and think, to broaden and just when I think I have squeezed all that I can out of it, I need to do it some more.

Real Christians

Real Christians struggle with doubt.

Real Christians feel sad and even mourn.

Real Christians don’t have all the answers.

Real Christians make mistakes.

Real Christians need grace, constantly.
