watchin dead poets society

ya know, this is just a good movie. one of the quotes that came up during the movie was from Thoreau.

"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them"

guys, man up and do some work.

myself included...how many times does one sit back and let things happen. oh so often i do. how does one seek the will of God and feel so good about it.

the things that we do to fit in, and yet all we need to do is to be confident in who we are and what we do...if only one were to find that.

guys, just let you know that you are usually not alone. all that is needed is someone who is willing to step up and voice that opinion. be confident...and to be confident, you must try, and be willing to fail...for in failure, one learns more than success most times.

unrestrained passion, unfettered feeling

thanks for the thoughts and prayers...keep them up.

2nd week of camp

well, finished the second week of camp. not the easiest one to go through...but it was kinda humbling. i got my first night off during the camp week this past week. matt, will, xander and myself went to the house of man in murray and ate some nice kabobs. had a great time just hanging out with the guys.

i think about a bunch of yall and i hope things are going well. not much different here...just working...but i am trying to find what exactly that means, and to work with something in mind. and if you know me well, you know i like to focus on the thing at hand...which so often leads to losing sight of the big picture.

still trying to figure out who i am...and what God is calling me to be. funny how some people can see that in themselves so easily, and they can see it in others. and no matter how much or how effectively they tell you, it is not really something that can happen until you find it or you believe it for yourself.

thanks for the prayers, the calls, and the texts...keep em up

i feel out of the loop

yeah, i notice all this new stuff coming online and reading about news that i didnt even know was happening... anyways it is my continual state of unawares.

just letting yall know that the first week of camp went well, and i am gearing up for my second week...studying the bible study outline a little bit more, relaxing, catching up on sleep...ya know all the necessities.

anyways, had a great group of kids this week, and had some fun. i need to solidify the curriculum a little bit...ok maybe a lot...but other than that i had a good week.

last weekend we went to murray and hung out, which means we went to eat and shop for things that we forgot. (cracker barrel and walmart). we went after we finished training week which went well too.

this weekend we went up to paducah and ate at outback and now i am currently catching up. i would appreciate all your prayers so that i might continue to focus on God during this time and that the truth shall be taught to these students. i also pray for safe travels and broken hearts.

training week...

man, it has been a pretty good week, taxing at times, but all worth it. spent the first few days getting to know people, but i just had to jump into the training...missed the team building...but it is coming together. we have a pretty good crew out here, and the weather is beautiful.

today it is a bit cloudy, but it is still nice.

today is the day before students arrive, and we had a specific time to pray for the students. after we broke up into groups, we met back together to think of some of the issues that students might bring to camp...and so we drew them on the pavement, in chalk. we then began to pray for some of these issues, and pretty soon after we were finished praying the rain began. the only one who could take care of those issues, and to wash them away...did.

havin a good time. we have the rest of today off, and will head into town and eat (and i need to pick up a bath towel)

please continue your thoughts and prayers
