kickin it here in KY

aww, it is truly nice to have a friend along on the journey.

anyways, patrick and i went to paducah today. it was a pretty cool time...asides from spending more money than i have in the past month. it was fun just hangin out, gettin some new clothes, etc. after the mall and sams, we went to downtown and walked around for a bit.

we noticed a big wall and water beyond, so we thought we would go exploring a bit. well, the water turned out to be the ohio river, and across it was the great state of illinois. the wall, as much as we can figure, is a retaining wall for when the river might flood. anyways, i touched the ohio river.

after sitting for a few, it came to me that since we were so close to illinois (and after looking at a map earlier, i saw that metropolis wasnt that far over the border) i told patrick to punch it into his GPS and see how far it was. turned out it was going to be a 4hr trip...by foot. so after making the correct adjustments, we got into the car and drove the 15 minutes across a pretty blue bridge into illinois.

got to metropolis, took pictures, shopped and goofed off. after that we stopped by and looked at some bikes. liked the look, called, and met up later but we had to wait for an hour. patrick and i went down to some state park and hung out, took pics and i waded in the ohio...water felt real nice

headed out, tested, then headed to paducah and ate at rafferty's. good, like charleston's or cheddars...sept better and more expensive.

then headed home
